Game Day Stylebook: 5 for 5

27/8/2018

This weekend the waiting ends. College football- SEC football - in five days it's all back! With tailgate season comes the tailgate wardrobe. In an effort to be the evolving planner that I am and to exude my game day excitement, I've put together looks for the first five Ole Miss games. All of these looks transcend, however, and work for anyone with corresponding team colors! Dressing up an outfit has always been my bread and butter. Going to a school that has its own game day dress code in "Grove Attire," was a legitimate dream. Also, who doesn't love to dress like its the Fourth of July every game day?

Matchup: Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech
Where: Houston, TX
When: 11AM Kickoff
Game Day Color: White

While not all of us are making the trek to Houston, the Rebels will be taking on Texas Tech this Saturday for the first game of the season. For those of you who acknowledge the “no white after Labor Day” rule, this is your big event to dawn your white apparel. You'll find me in Oxford in this halter style dress paired with the best "flatform" sandals! These shoes make standing much more bearable. ALSO, check out my girl Claire Parkerson's earrings via Etsy!!.

Matchup: Ole Miss vs. Southern Illinois
Where: Oxford, MS
When: 3 PM Kickoff
Game Day Color: Navy Blue

While this shift dress from Gap is no longer available, great chambray dresses are still out there! In an effort to incorporate some other shades of blue in there, these Ruffle Sandals and Kendra Scott Hoops are great accents. Amazon still has this Acrylic Box Clutch that is going to appease the clear bag policy while being a statement piece for an outfit too.

Matchup: Ole Miss vs. Alabama
Where: Oxford, MS
When: 6 PM Kickoff
Game Day Color: Powder Blue

The other game day color at Ole Miss comes out in the powder blue game. This tradition has made appearances at Ole Miss on the field on and off since the late 50s when Coach Vaught ordered helmets that came in the wrong shade of blue. They played in the helmets then, and now the fans join in on the embraced powder blue as well. A romper and another comfortable wedge later, and this outfit is ready to cheer at the Alabama game.
  • Trendy accessory obsessions: the clear clutch from Dixie & Dot with my favorite new statement earrings by Fantassels!

Matchup: Ole Miss vs. Kent State
Where: Oxford, MS
When: TBD
Game Day Color: Red

This non-conference game versus Kent State is a great excuse to put on these earrings from Riff Raff and break out that stadium approved crossbody! Time to get all dressed up to have a great day in Oxford, MS if you ask me. Lauren James puts out perfect dresses for all occasions, so why not an Ole Miss game?

Matchup: Ole Miss vs. LSU
Where: Baton Rouge, LA
When: TBD
Game Day Color: Red

This "dress up casual" look features my new favorite t-shirt from Riff Raff! One of my all time favorite movies is Remember the Titans, and then it calls out the "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" to top it all off. Some fun gold hoops and a red denim skirt, and this look has me ready to go beat LSU.

I'm a born and raised Arkansas girl who found herself drawn to Oxford, MS three years ago. It's there that I discovered IMC in the Meek School of Journalism and New Media, which began my journey towards brand consulting and social media content drafting. With the support of my friends and family, I remain excited and positive about the opportunities still to come! In an ever-changing marketplace, I get the opportunity to enter the workforce when so many miraculous transitions in business and marketing are resulting. It is my goal/hope/aspiration that this page functions as a way for those who have not met me, or may not know me well, to get some insight into what I'm passionate about. A lifestyle blogs purpose, in general, is similar to why I want to work with branding to begin with. What can you see in a consumer? What can be found in a product in actuality and sentimentally? Who is your company's culture appealing to when all is said and done? These are questions that should bring inspiration. If it became my job to aid in finding that stimulus, what an amazing thing to be a part of!
