![]() While the town of Oxford, Mississippi may not have a whole lot going on outside of an Ole Miss game and its town square, it has easy access to visit surrounding cities. Sitting down and talking out the trips that needed to happen between the last year and a half of our college career, my friends and I chose Nashville as the move for spring break. With its country music history and eclectic atmosphere, it seemed like the perfect new place to explore this spring. It may not have been the stereotypical spring break that people have, but it was so special to have some laughs and explore with some of my best friends. Day 1: We arrived at the Airbnb and were pleasantly surprised at how great the house ended up being! The location was easy to navigate to all the different neighborhoods that make up Nashville. A happy accident on the way to dinner later, we wound up at Burger Up for our first meal with a convenient stop for dessert next door at The Soda Parlor. My classic hamburger, whether it was because we hadn’t eaten since Oxford or not, was possibly the best burger I’d ever had. The great food that we had that first night became a common trend. Day 2: On a rainy first day, we went downtown to The Stillery for lunch (10/10 recommend the pizza) and then wandered down to the Country Music Hall of Fame. As a music junkie, anywhere that shows the history and purpose behind someone’s music or songwriting is a must see. By days end, I’d seen Elvis’ solid gold Cadillac and satisfied my cookie dough obsession at No Baked. It was there that the cashier asked if I was the mom of the group. It may have been the beret I was wearing that made me look like a troop leader, but I was pretty proud!

Karlee KilkerI'm a born and raised Arkansas girl who found herself drawn to Oxford, MS three years ago. It's there that I discovered IMC in the Meek School of Journalism and New Media, which began my journey towards brand consulting and social media content drafting. With the support of my friends and family, I remain excited and positive about the opportunities still to come! In an ever-changing marketplace, I get the opportunity to enter the workforce when so many miraculous transitions in business and marketing are resulting. It is my goal/hope/aspiration that this page functions as a way for those who have not met me, or may not know me well, to get some insight into what I'm passionate about. A lifestyle blogs purpose, in general, is similar to why I want to work with branding to begin with. What can you see in a consumer? What can be found in a product in actuality and sentimentally? Who is your company's culture appealing to when all is said and done? These are questions that should bring inspiration. If it became my job to aid in finding that stimulus, what an amazing thing to be a part of! Categories |
